Mere reading newspapers is not enough-CKR

It is said that reading newspapers will help you to improve your vocabulary  and your fluency.But mere reading is not enough.Try to look for words quite unfamiliar to you.Make it a habit of collecting at least 5 words every day.Find out the meaning of the words referring to dictionary and learn their usage and pronunciation .

Delinquent officers must be booked.
5.spirals- rises progressively
to take something on the chin-to accept unpleasant things bravely and without complaining.
6.ignominious -deserving shame
7.exhume -to dig a dead body out of the grave after it was buried
